rustic central oregon wedding | Destination wedding photography

I was referred to Kathryn and Jeff by another photographer and couldn't be more happy they found me!   Not only was their Bend, Oregon wedding spectacular and beautiful, they were one of the sweetest couples I have worked with.  The bridal party and family members were all so welcoming and wonderful to work with as well.  Whenever I have a destination or getaway wedding I also love to make a weekend or trip out of it.  The couple was so sweet to invite us to stay and come to their rehearsal and get together.  We came early to scout out the beautiful Suttle Lake Resort.   The venue is so beautiful with rustic cabins, mountain views, a lake, and a beautiful stream.  Shauna Davis with Stepping Stone Wedding Events did a great job with all of the decor mixing vintage with rustic elements.  The bride's mom and grandmother worked very hard to make the coffee filter flowers for the alter and other decor!  Talk about dedication!   I always love when couples get married by water and the beautiful mountains.   The wedding was a perfect blend of rustic elegance with such gorgeous scenery.  They chose this location so all of their family members could really have a relaxing getaway and spend more time together throughout the weekend.  I think Central Oregon is a wonderful option for couples looking for that perfect outdoor destination wedding.  I couldn't be happier for Kathryn and Jeff thank you for letting me be a part of your big weekend and your wonderful wedding day!

Romantic French Inspired Bridals | Styled Sessions

This was such a fun, challenging editorial project...the challenge was in capturing every bit of the beauty I had to work with! Working with Elizabeth Dye’s stunning gowns, and so many talented team members was an incredible treat. If you’re not familiar with the Elizabeth Dye collections, you need to check them out right away. This amazing Portland-based designer has the dresses from your dreams; airy, delicate, floaty confections that take your breath away with their beauty. The pieces we showcased in this shoot were no exception. We worked with stylist Allure with Decor, and the talented Tia Reagan worked her magic with hair, makeup, and wardrobe styling. All of the dramatic and elegant bouquets and floral arrangements were done by Clara at Beyond the Garden Gate. The two models (from TRIBE management), were delightful to work with, and captured the essence of what we were hoping for; a european inspired, fanciful and elegant shoot with plenty of romance.

This session will be featured on Magnolia Rouge in the early fall.

Callie and James | Weddings | Oregon Fine Art Photography

People often ask me about photographing friends and family...I admit, it is a bit nerve-wracking when the subjects are close friends (as this bride and groom are), but I mostly feel honored they would entrust such an important task to me. A wedding is an irreplaceable day, filled with the people you love, celebrating one of the biggest moments in your life! It’s no small thing that I get to document these beautiful days, and I feel so lucky every single time! Callie and James are dear friends who celebrated their wedding at the stunning Orchard Home Bed and Breakfast. This beautiful venue is so charming, and I loved what Callie said about her color and dress choices, "I wanted my bridesmaids to be able to pick their own dresses, and the groomsmen, their own suits, so I went with a palette of blushes, grays, and beiges. I wanted the flowers to be loose and textured, so we included things like olive leaf, Dusty Miller, and fresh lavender.” Florist Jeanie Payne perfectly caught her vision for a mix of delicate and rustic, and the bouquets were unique and lovely. This wedding was not only gorgeous and full of so much fun (the groom surprised the bride by serenading her to "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith), it was also meaningful to be alongside such treasured friends on their big day. Congratulations, Callie and James, on your incredible day!
